Polaroid Film Back

Why does my Polaroid film keep coming out dark blue and why won't it develop properly?

I have a rather old polaroid camera - it has 636 closeup on the front and takes 600 film.
I just bought some new film for it for the first time in about 5 or so years from a gallery in Sydney. The camera was my mum's originally.
When I was putting the film in I took off a piece of black card with a drawing on (I didn't know it was a cover) and exposed the film a bit, I put it back on pretty quick.
Each time I take a photo it comes out dark blue (apart from one that came out pale pink and is now pale yellow), they then go onto to pull out pinks and purples. But as pretty as they are I really want a normal photo.
On two of the pictures I have taken you can see the things I was taking a photo of but not very well, it hasn't developed properly. :/

So, is it a problem with the camera's age, the film being exposed or something else?

All polaroid film still available is expired which means you can get colours like this. Highly sought after by the vintage crowd.

The only source of more or less reliable 600 film is this:
